Well, it's back over Dallas Divide again today. Think you can drive it in your
sleep?
As with earlier routes, please resist the temptation to take the short cut. The
road from Hotchkiss to Gunnison is not to be missed!
We'll retrace our route to Montrose and then head east at Delta. We'll head toward
Crawford and the North Rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison River when we get to Hotchkiss.
The road between Crawford and the Blue Mesa Dam may become one of your favorite Cobra roads in
Colorado. It is that good! Be sure to pull over at the scenic viewing areas for a glimpse into the Black Canyon.
After crossing the dam we'll head east to Gunnison.
We have a group picnic dinner planned at the Gunnison Mountain Park three miles up the Taylor River
from Almont. Almont is about ten miles from Gunnison on the road to Crested Butte.
