Today we make a return trip to Telluride, Colorado.
The Cruise Colorado will go over Grand Mesa, the largest mesa in the world! After leaving
I-70, we'll begin our ascent through the winding canyon of Plateau Creek. Well pass through the town of Mesa, and
then start climbing through the scrub oak toward the summit. After we get into the pine trees and past a few switchbacks,
we'll cross the top of Grand Mesa at an elevation of over 10,000 feet.
We'll enjoy a twisting descent off the mesa and pass by the orchards at Cedaredge and continue
on to Delta. We'll head south to Montrose and continue to Ridgway. Leaving Ridgway we'll climb over the Dallas Divide, with
a view of Mt. Sneffels off to our left. Watch for the rail fence near the top. If you've ever purchased anything with Ralph
Lauren's name on it, one of the rails might be paid for by you!
After crossing the divide we'll descend the winding road to the town of Placerville and start the
final climb into Telluride.
We'll be staying at the Mountainside Inn, the same place we did during last year's Cruise.
