From Theresa Tess1RN@aol.com I'm happy to say that we had our second son on Oct. 23, 2003. No pre-e, no HELLP, no problems at all! A totally drug-free delivery for me too, a VBAC, no c-section this time!
From McSwiggy@aol.com (Cincinnati OH) John Arthur "Jack" was born on October 11, 2003 without any complications and weighing 7 lbs., 15 ozs. His big brother, Joe, was born in April, 2001 at 24 weeks and weighing only 1 lb., 9 oz. My HELLP syndrome with Joe was severe -- I found out a few months after Joe was born that my husband had gotten the "They might not make it" speech from the doctor before we went into the OR for the C- section. The only things that were different this time were that I had my gallbladder out last year, and I took extra calcium and a baby aspirin every day. I don't know if that's what made the difference this time or if I was just really lucky. If there's anyone out there trying to decide whether to have another baby after having had HELLP, I say "Go for it!". Chances are probably good that you won't get it again and if you do, you already know what the worst is and you lived through it.
