"...Thanks for this website, it lets me know I am not alone..."

From Leslie
MLCinOP@aol.com  (Overland Park, KS)  Baby is measuring almost a week ahead and weighs almost 11 ounces. My blood pressure and urine was good and everything on the baby looked good. For updates see:   http://www.babycountdown.com/babyPage.php?baby=1950. Leslie lost her first baby as a result of a premature birth in a HELLP pregnancy.  She had HELLP in her second pregnancy and her daughter survived.

MVASWANI@scgov.net (Venice, FL) Just wanted to send an update on my second pregnancy.  I am 23 weeks along now and praying for a HELLP free pregnancy.  Earlier this week I went to the hospital from severe nausea causing dehydration.  I was given fluids and Zofran.  My stay only lasted a few hours which I was very happy about.  The blood work taken at the hospital showed no signs of HELLP, but the extreme nausea makes me worry.  My blood pressure is normal.  At my last check-up, I had a +1 protein in my urine, so a urine analysis and blood work was done and again, no signs of pre-eclampsia or HELLP.  Since I had HELLP with my daughter, who is now 15 months old, every little ache and pain makes me panic.  Thanks for this website, it lets me know I am not alone.

dfitzt236@rogers.com (Ontario Canada) Just thought I would let everyone know that I am now 22 weeks pregnant (after losing first baby Tyler at 26 weeks gestation in Aug 2002 to severe HELLP). I am being monitored very closely and I am encouraged by the messages from women who have survived HELLP in subsequent pregnancies. I have ultrasounds every 2 weeks to make sure the baby is developing and I am still taking baby aspirin, calcium,Vit C and E. So far so good. This time we are having a girl. Maybe having a girl will make a difference for us with HELLP...who knows.????? I will keep you posted on my progress.

mandj000@comcast.net (Newcastle, WA) I am starting my 35th week of pregnancy and am doing well so far.  This is my second pregnancy.  I got severe PIH and HELLP with the first at 39.5 weeks. I was being treated with Atenolol (blood pressure meds) but have been taken off of them because my bp was so low.  So far so good, albeit an irritable uterus that flared up at 26 weeks and requires me to take Terbutaline ever so often. My high risk OB will induce labor between the 37-38th weeks. I am convinced that pregnancy is not for the weak at heart, but for the courageous. Three more weeks…

hjsullivan@earthlink.net (Kansas City MO) I just wanted to ask for the group's prayers with this pregnancy. I developed HELLP and severe pre-eclampsia at 41 weeks with my son. He is fine, but of course I am scared about getting it again. I am now 29 weeks along and everything is looking good. I haven't gained much weight, but that's not related to HELLP, is it?! Thank you!

JBCDVM@aol.com (Durham, NC) I know you can't possibly remember everyone you correspond with, but I wanted to update you. I'm one of the lucky HELLP survivors. I developed HELLP on my due date and delivered a wonderful healthy boy on Aug 18, 2001. Well, we decided to try again. I'm pregnant with a girl who is due April 7, 2004. All indications are good at this point. The 'morning sickness' was not quite as difficult, partly because I knew what to expect and avoid this time around. We are just waiting on the amnio results right now. Also I have contacted Ann Dacey and hope to be included in the study.
