Congratulations to:
Stephanie stephielang@hotmail.com (UT) on the birth of her second child, Connor. He weighed 6 lbs 2 oz and was born at 39 weeks with no HELLP. Both mom and son are doing great. Tracey tracey@hansonparry.com I wrote to the Society in early 2004 when my husband and I lost our first child, Ila Elizabeth, stillborn at 25 weeks, due to severe pre-eclampsia and HELLP Syndrome. We were, of course, completely devastated. It soon became my mission to learn everything I could about this condition and connect with other women who had experienced the same. It was so meaningful to me at that time to read the stories of women who had gone on to have successful pregnancies afterwards, and so I feel compelled to share my joyous news. Our second daughter, Lily Beatrice, was born March 5, 2005 at 37 weeks gestation. Though I did not actually end up with pre-eclampsia this time around, we were induced three weeks early, as, through ultrasound, we had known for weeks that the placenta was aging prematurely, and my body was beginning to communicate its intolerance. Lily was born perfectly healthy, with some jaundice issues, but nothing that a day and a half under bili lights couldn't fix! I credit the wonderful doctor and nurses we had this time around with much of our success. This great medical care led us not only to the perfect outcome, but also provided us with the confidence we needed to get through this quite stressful subsequent pregnancy.A tremendous thank you to the HELLP Syndrome Society for the immensely important work that you do.
Denise Oneyodafan@aol.com (Wausau, WI ) Just wanted to let you know that the newest member of our family arrived this week. Phoenix Alexander was born Mon. May 22 at 1:12pm. I was induced at 37 weeks due to PIH, but no HELLP this time around!!! His big sister Ariana was born at 35 weeks from HELLP. Phoenix weighed 5lbs 6oz and is 18.5 inches long. He is on the small side, but healthy and was able to come home with us!
Jen jenlwright75@hotmail.com I just wanted to thank you once again for the work that you are doing. I had HELLP in November of 2004 with my first son. I gave birth 17 weeks ago to another wonderful boy and we were HELLP free. I had erratic BP episodes and major anxiety/insomnia issues. However, I actually managed to hold on until 40 weeks and 2 days to deliver VBAC. I actually think that my little darling would have liked to have hung out a little longer even, however, my doctor was going on vacation and so we had a little help getting started. I actually started to have the same symptoms that I had with my first child at exactly the same day in my pregnancy. However, my doctor was incredibly responsive and attentive. I also had an amazing meeting with an alternative source, which seemed to help get me back to "normal". It was just an amazing experience.
