From Patricia pbcollins516@msn.com co-rep for Cleveland/Akron area in Ohio (Fairview Park, OH) I am a HELLP Syndrome survivor. I lost twins in June of 2001 and almost died. I just wanted to let everyone know I am on baby number 2 since my loss and have been HELLP free both pregnancies. I have a 13-month-old little boy William Michael and had him at 35 weeks due to PIH but no HELLP. I am now 34 weeks pregnant and so far so good with no signs of HELLP and it's another boy!!! John Robert will be coming soon!!! I will update you all upon his arrival.
From Robin Robin0028@aol.com (Terre Haute, IN) Just wanted to update everyone! I am pregnant with our second child due in May 2004! I am so excited. So far things are going good, except having to be on progesterone supplements. Blood pressure is okay, urine okay. I hope it stays that way all throughout my pregnancy.
From Leslie MLCinOP@aol.com (Overland Park, KS) Just wanted to let you know that I am expecting our third baby in early April. We hadn't planned on having anymore children, but I guess God had other plans for us! As you know, I had HELLP with both of my girls, delivering Abigail at 23 weeks (13 oz) in April 96, where she died shortly after birth and delivering Claudia at 30 weeks (2 lb, 10 oz) in April 00, where she spent 9 weeks in the NICU. I am seeing the same group of perinatologists as my last pregnancy, so they have my history and know what to expect. Since I have permanent hypertension from the first pregnancy, I always have to switch my blood pressure meds to ones that are 'safe' for pregnancy. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the third time's the charm, and this one will make it close to term.
From Terri and Darren tdowell1@msn.com (Littleton, CO) I would like to announce the birth of our daughter, Makenzi Keenan. She was born on 9/3/02. I was induced at 38 weeks, and had her natural. She weighed 6 lbs. 15 oz. And was 19 1/2 inches. Mother and father are doing well. We are truly blessed. We lost Makenzi's brother, Dylan Logan, on 2/24/02 to HELLP. He was 22 weeks. I was on Lovenox twice a day for Makenzi's pregnancy and monitored like a hawk. Thank you to my wonderful perinatologist for helping us bring her into this world. Everyone, keep your hopes up and you are all in our prayers.
