Anyway I have had a hard time dealing with my wife's loss (her name was Tara) and was hoping that maybe you can point me in the right direction for support groups and such.

micholly7@aol.com (Port Carling, Canada) Hi.  I am writing to inquire how one becomes a member of this society.  I have just lost my baby to HELLP syndrome at 22 weeks.  Very rare and looking for a support group here in Canada.  I would also like to email my story to your newsletter.  Let me know how to go about this and thanks for just being there.  Your website is a definite source of comfort.

I am having a bad day and need to correspond with others in my situation.  I lost my son, Carson, at 22 weeks, three weeks ago yesterday.  My doctors, who specialize in HELLP up here, haven't seen a case so early, so I am being subjected to many tests and am going crazy with worry about subsequent pregnancies.

antjerath@qwest.net  (Salt Lake City, UT) Thanks for the information. I didn't suffer from HELLP but severe pre-eclampsia at 27 weeks of pregnancy. My baby died after 17 days. I am slowly recovering, at least physically, and my husband and I are thinking about our chances and risks for a second pregnancy. Thus, I am happy about every bit of information I can find.

albina.hollins@sympatico.ca (Canada) Hello, up until July 21st 2003 I had no idea HELLP existed. Then my daughter had the syndrome (thinking that she had the flu) for several days before the pain in her upper right stomach area sent her to the emergency room of her hospital. Her husband was told after tests were done that the 32 week old baby girl must be delivered or my daughter would die!!!! Our baby (Avery) weighed 2lb 15 ozs and my daughter (Kathleen) recovered although 2 months later she still is on blood pressure medication. My nephew's wife gave birth to twin boys on Aug 23rd and on Aug.28th DIED from HELLP syndrome!!!! Our hearts are broken, two little boys have no Mom and my nephew has lost the love of his life. We are still asking questions and there will be an enquiry into her death. Do you have any people in Canada or web sites I could visit? I really feel somehow that more info on this horrible syndrome needs to be made available. I'm sure there are even people in the medical profession don't even know this exists. Thank you for reading my email. This loss has left such a void in so many peoples lives. My niece was only 32 and this should have not have happened!!! Thanks again.
