From Heather heatheranntaylor@yahoo.com 2nd HELLP free pregnancy.  I was induced at 39 weeks and all went just great.  Alexander Lawrence was born on June 15th at 10:42 PM.  His two older brothers are thrilled!

From Sandy
sandrade00@yahoo.com I wrote in to announce our second pregnancy after having HELLP Syndrome with our first child some time back in 2004. Our second child is here safely. Our first daughter was born at 35w+1d because I had developed HELLP Syndrome. Preeclampsia was diagnosed around week 27. I was hospitalized, and made it all the way to 35w+1d until HELLP set in. She weighed 5 lbs, 10 oz. After the birth, our daughter's lung collapsed and she spent two weeks in NICU. Breastfeeding never did take off, although I did pump for three and a half months. She did have some preemie issues, but she's about to celebrate her second birthday and is relatively fine now - and very sweet. Our second daughter was born in March of this year. This time around, I started  daily taking 81mg aspirin, extra folic acid, PrimaCare prenatal vitamins with the omega fatty acids, B-12 and B-6. I started bed rest and Aldomet/Methyldopa around week 20 due to high blood pressure issues and made it to week 37+1d before having to deliver. She was a healthy 7 lbs, 7 oz. HELLP had not set in yet, but I'm wondering if it was on the way. No NICU stay, and we are breastfeeding this time around. She is very sweet as well. We decided that pregnancy isn't for us, so with our two girls, we will stop growing our family. We will continue to be supporters of the HELLP Syndrome Society and the Preeclampsia Foundation, and are grateful to those who help put this website and newsletter together.

From Lynne
lreamer@ix.netcom.com  Just wanted to let everyone know that we now
have a daughter! Samantha Paige was born on June 15. My water broke early so she was 4 weeks ahead of schedule but weighed in at 5 lb 4 oz and didn't
need any extra care. No HELLP either!!! I did have PIH from almost the beginning but I was closely managed by both my OB and a wonderful perinatologist group from Temple University. I was on Aldomet for the last 5 months.  Not bad for a 40+ Mommy. For the record, I had HELLP at 36 1/2 weeks in my first pregnancy in '96. Big brother Sean is now a very big 4th grader. Good luck to those of you that are now pregnant or soon to be.

Lynne and her husband Tony have been long time members of the HELLP Syndrome Society, Inc.  Their volunteer work over the years has been invaluable.  We wish them the best with their new addition.

I delivered Maya Elisabeth on 6.4.05 at 1lb. 15oz. 28 weeks gest. She has been our little miracle from the beginning.  She's had some of the typical preemie stuff such as jaundice, PDA, a few NEC scares, multiple transfusions, etc. but has come through with flying colors always.  She just had her first ROP exam and everything is normal as of now.  Even her head ultrasound showed no bleeds.  She is on limited oxygen now, about 10 cc's on a nasal canula.  She's really remarkable, as she could have been faced with much more. We hope to bring her home in 5-6 weeks.   I read all these stories online of others' struggles and am heartbroken yet thankful that we've been so fortunate in such an unfortunate situation.  I'm so glad there are resources out there such as yours to help me get more information as it gives me some sense of control of the situation.
