From Dawn yankeedoodle6@juno.com (Alexandria, VA) I'm just writing to let you know that Emily was born on May 10th. We had to induce 2 weeks early because my platelet counts were dropping so quickly. She also had low platelets and jaundice initially but is doing fine now. My first baby was born 1 week early with an emergency induction because I had full blown HELLP. With both my second and third, I had to be induced early, but only because my platelet counts were going down. No signs of pre-eclampsia or liver problems in my second or third pregnancy. However, my second had to be induced only 1 week early and this time she had to be induced two weeks early so we don't want to push the envelope any more. We know how lucky we are to have our three beautiful little girls here with us.
From Cindy mcbarc@ILCDover.com (Dover, DE) I had my third child March 24, 2004 Taylor Patricia was 7lb 14.5oz and 19 ¾ inches long and was delivered by planned C-section. She is perfectly healthy. I had no signs of any problems of HELLP this time and I worked up to the day before she was born. This was nice after having my second child born at 36 weeks due to HELLP and spending time at the NICU with him for two and half weeks because of lung problems. Thanks for all the info you gave me and suggesting that I go to a perinatologist. Without that I would have not had another child and she is a wonder.
From Kara ksvl07@yahoo.com (Cypress, TX) I just wanted to announce the birth of our son, Alex Jacob on June 3! After experiencing some hypertension and trace amounts of protein, I was put on modified bed rest for 3 weeks before we decided to go ahead and do the c-section. Alex was born at 36 weeks and weighed 4 lbs. 13 oz....no complications at birth! We were THRILLED to bring him home with us after only 3 1/2 days in the hospital! We were also thrilled to have carried him 3 weeks further than our son Andrew(2 1/2 yrs), and that there were NO signs of HELLP syndrome this time around. This last month of pregnancy was a scary time, constantly worrying about blood work and blood pressure, but everything turned out wonderfully in the end. Thanks to everyone who was rooting for us!
From Susan s2walsh@yahoo.com I gave birth to our second baby girl on March 17, 2004. Although I had several other complications, the birth was completely HELLP-free and Kaitlyn is perfectly healthy. My first daughter was born in August of 2001 by emergency c-section due to HELLP. I was so grateful to be awake during the c-section this time and to be able to see my beautiful daughter just after she was born. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes. I also want to thank everyone involved in this website for the information and support that they provide to all of us who have been affected by HELLP.
