LauraJ333@aol.com (Long Island, NY) Can anyone suggest a referral for a high risk ob? I live on Long Island, NY and my first baby was delivered at 26 weeks due to HELLP. I cannot seem to find a good high risk ob to talk to about a future pregnancy.

kimbrauns@hotmail.com (Stockbridge, GA) My name is Kim, and I am a HELLP Syndrome survivor in the Atlanta area. Last month, I participated in a team multi-sport event (a team duathlon - I cycled 20 miles, my father-in-law ran 5K). In chatting with the spectators and other athletes, I realized the potential such events have for raising awareness about HELLP syndrome.  I think a triathlon relay team comprised of HELLP survivors would be a powerful education tool to the general public, as well as a great inspiration to those recovering from HELLP. I'm thinking of putting together such a team for next year's season of short course triathlons (usually a 400 yard swim, 10-20 mile bike ride, 3 mile (5K) run). As an avid cyclist, I can do the bike leg. But I need to find a swimmer and a runner. Ideally, everyone would be located in the Southeast. We would not need to train together, but would need to find centrally located events to participate in, as each athlete would be responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs. Ideally, we would mutually decide on two or three events throughout the spring/summer of 2004. I'm not looking for "elite" athletes - just committed, passionate amateurs willing to share their experiences with HELLP while celebrating their current health and fitness. If we do get lucky and win, all prize money would be donated to the HELLP Syndrome Society. If anyone is interested, please contact me. I can be reached by phone at 770-389-5739, or via email at kimbrauns@hotmail.com. Thanks!

If anyone needs information about Sensory Integration Dysfunction, please contact Stacia snelson125@attbi.com She has just finished a class on teaching Learning Disabled Students and her final project was a three page report. Although Sensory Integration Dysfunction isn't legally recognized as a Learning Disability, her instructor agreed that it would be useful information to share with her class. Stacia's daughter, born in a HELLP pregnancy, was diagnosed with Sensory Integration Dysfunction.

mrs.goodnough@cox.net (Warwick, RI) Taylor had a fabulous year in first grade. He gained a bunch in expressive language, and will continue in both special and regular education classes for the second grade. He still is small but otherwise healthy. Editors Note: Tricia attended our 1998 symposium.

decastroac@camerondiv.com (São Paulo - Brazil) I just want to thank you for this site and after what happened to my sister, this support has been of great value to us  Too bad she doesn't understand English, but I translate it to her. My niece spent only 30 days with us, but she touched us deep inside and changed our lives forever, I mean, my entire family.  My sister is planning to get pregnant again in October/03 and she has found a specialist in high risk pregnancies, as you advised, and went through many examinations and will be watched very closely this time. We all hope everything is going to be just fine.  I will keep you informed.
