From Lisa (Manhasset, NY) I am a little over 24 weeks pregnant and so far everything seems okay, although I feel like a mess. My daughter Sarah is thrilled beyond words as we are, but I think the anxiety is actually what's making everything seem magnified. Although I live on Long Island, I am still seeing my high risk OB that used to be at NYU and has since moved to Yale. It's a hike but I cannot break that security I feel with having him watch over me. He has found a local guy to be my backup just in case. I am on a baby aspirin, vitamin e, c, high dose folic aid, and prenatal. I know we had spoken in the past regarding the anxiety disorder I developed after HELLP and my anxiety is pretty bad now. I have been on low dose medication for awhile but really wanted to be off so am considering visualization, biofeedback during pregnancy. I met someone who trained under Gail Peterman who I believe did birthing visualization/hypnosis. Any comments?
From Jana mandj000@attbi.com (Newcastle, WA) I am 16 weeks pregnant with my second child. I had HELLP with my first child at the very end of my pregnancy (39 weeks). Things are going well. I am taking Atenolol for an underlying hypertensive condition as a precaution. The cardiac output as well as the blood pressure numbers are looking good. Praying for a very different pregnancy from the first, but also much better prepared this time around should we experience complications again.
From Nicole kcameron@surfree.com (Riverton, UT) I think I jinxed myself... I went for my 35 week appointment today and my blood pressure is way high. Now, I am on bed rest while they check my platelets and liver enzymes and try to bring the pressure down. Bummer. I'm feeling a little down now.
