My observation in the seven years that I have been corresponding with HELLP survivors, is that many of you are under a tremendous amount of stress. I see the same stress in both of my daughters as they manage their careers and at the same time be super moms. Please slow down and spend a moment of your time taking an imaginary trip to my little corner of the world.
It's my favorite time of the year in Bethany. Spring arrived in its full glory with lots of blossoms. As I write this, the rhododendrons (our state flower) are blooming throughout the town. Nestled in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, the town of Bethany is more accurately described as a village. It's the location of a small, private liberal arts college, founded in 1840, with an enrollment of less than a thousand students. There are two National Landmarks in Bethany, the Campbell Mansion (home of the founder of Bethany College) and Old Main. Several other buildings are on the National Register of Historic Landmarks and Places.
This is the time after graduation and before summer soccer and band camps come to Bethany, and it is so peaceful. I like to take walks during my lunch hour up the hill to Old Main and take a moment or two to enjoy the beauty of the beautiful flower garden that was given by a former first lady of Bethany. Best wishes to all for a good health and a wonderful summer.
Judy
