From Holly and Micahel Micholly7@aol.com (Port Carling, Ontario, Canada) We are pregnant again after losing our son, Carson, to HELLP last August. It was a quick turn around to being pregnant again and we are so happy. I am having blood pressure problems, but feel so great compared to last time. I have to travel 21/2 hours every other week to visit my HELLP Syndrome specialists in Toronto, but it is so worth it! We are 18 weeks and counting! Lost Carson at 22 weeks last time, so the worries are drawing nearer.
From Donna dmmetler@bellsouth.net (Memphis, TN) I'm now about 6 weeks pregnant, after losing my first child to Class I HELLP at 22 weeks. So far everything looks great-my BP is actually running a little lower than it was before I was pregnant (I think because I have so many people who are doing their best to keep stress off me). My OB is very optimistic about this one.
From Kathy kkbmadvig3@cox.net (Chula Vista, CA) I wanted to let you know that we are expecting another baby! We have been very slow in sharing the news this time as we are taking a wait and see approach. I have a wonderful new high-risk doctor here in La Jolla who is keeping a very close eye on me! She has me on the Lovenox injections daily but not on the prednisone, as I was with Alexander. Evidently, new research shows concern that prednisone may actually help bring on pre-eclampsia. At least that's what she told me. We are praying for a smooth and somewhat normal pregnancy this time around! I am already 21 weeks along and my due date is September 20th, so we are half way there!
