We hope that all of you are staying warm and healthy this winter.  We have been hit by a lot of ice and snow this winter.  We are very ready for spring to be here. 

Several events are in the works for the HELLP Syndrome Society.  We are in the planning stages of our 2008 HELLP Symposium in June.  Please keep checking our web site for more

information.  Please let us know if you are seriously considering attending the Symposium, which will be held June 27-29, 2008, at the beautiful Oglebay Park and Resort, Wheeling, West Virginia.


In addition we invite you to please join us for the second annual HELLP-A-Thon set for the week of June 22-28, 2008.  HELLP-A-THON is an activity to raise money for research & awareness of HELLP Syndrome.  We will again be offering two ways to participate:  The Move-A-Thon and the Shop-A-Thon.  To learn more about each please visit our web site.  There you will find information on the HELLP-A-Thon, Move-A-Thon Participation Form, letter and postcard to send to family and friends, Shop-A-Thon vendors application and ideas for participation from our members who participated in 2007. 
To assist you in promoting the HELLP-A-Thon, you may like to wear a specially designed HELLP-A-Thon T-shirt.  You can receive a T-shirt for a donation of $35.  To make a credit card donation click on DONATE NOW button.  Make sure that you specify that your donation is for a (HELLP-A-Thon T-shirt) or you can also send a check or money order to:  HELLP Syndrome Society, Inc., P.O. Box 44, Bethany, WV  26032  USA. Donations received by May 15, 2008 will ensure that your shirt will arrive in time for the event.

Please remember our ongoing research for HELLP Syndrome.  Melissa L. Wilson, M.P.H., Ph.D.of the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine, Los Angeles, California is conducting genetic research on HELLP Syndrome.   Dr. Helen How of the University of Cincinnati is conducting research on the long-term effects after having HELLP Syndrome.  All women who have had HELLP are asked to participate even if you have not developed any health concerns since having HELLP.   Please visit our web site for more information on how you can participate.
