Congratulations to:
Kathy, Kurt, Alexander and Alyssa kmadvig@indy.rr.com Hello All, we are very excited and feel very blessed to announce that Addison Faith was born on 1/31/07 at 12:54pm. She was 6 lb 13oz and 20" long. Mommy and baby are doing great.
Paula PRamos27@msn.com I just wanted to say thank you for keeping me updated with the monthly newsletters from the HELLP Syndrome Society. I hope that my medical info came in handy for the Ohio doctors to review. My husband and I are very grateful everyday that we have our son with us. We also welcomed our second little boy on September 29th. He was a very healthy full-term baby with no complications. The HELLP did not return. Thank goodness. Please keep sending me info, and if I can do more let me know.
Candice ccarta-myers@comcast.net Hi, I just wanted to send a quick note. I had my second child with no signs of HELLP. After developing HELLP with my first child my doctor sent me to a Hematologist for a complete blood study. He found 2 different blood disorders; one is called Protein C Resistance which means I make too many blood clots. He thinks this is why I developed HELLP. So, throughout my pregnancy I had to inject myself with Heparin twice a day and take many different vitamins. It worked; I was able to carry to full term and had a beautiful baby girl with no complications. Just thought maybe this information might be helpful to others who have experienced HELLP.
Erin et_ob@telusplanet.net Hello, I just wanted to share with you that I just delivered my second HELLP-free baby after my son was born at 31 weeks due to severe HELLP in 2003. As with my second pregnancy, I had low platelets this time too. I am now living in a large city and was monitored MUCH more closely. I was given steroids for my last 3 weeks and that brought my platelets up high enough to have a spinal for freezing and was awake for my c section. It was the first time I had the privilege to witness the birth of one of my children and it is truly a miracle. I am now done having children but your site and the information it provides gave me the courage to have more children. Keep up the good work.
Alanna Alannaarosebrown@comcast.net I had my 2nd HELLP baby a few months ago (good outcome - I made it to 39 weeks this time). Thank you for all you do for this foundation. My first child was born at 32 weeks a little over 3 years ago. I have never really had high blood pressure w/ both my HELLP pregnancies but 10 days before my second baby's due date my liver tests came back high so they induced me. My platelet count was down a little but still in low normal range. They caught it quick this time. I had gone in for a routine check and was just feeling a little tired so they decided to check my liver panel. Elizabeth Rose was born on 4/06/06. I spent a few extra days in the hospital to ensure my liver enzyme tests showed a continual drop. The worst part was a doctor on call told me a day after I had Elizabeth that I most likely had some underlying illness that caused two cases - like lupus or another auto immune illness. She then said I couldn't be tested for 6 weeks and left the room. I have to say I was a wreck those whole 6 weeks. It turns out I do not appear to have an underlying illness, just a person that happen to get it twice. When Elizabeth is a little older and I have a better grasp on two kids I would like to volunteer more of my time to helping women w/ this illness.
Elizabeth elizabeth.robinson20@verizon.net I just delivered my 2nd baby on 12-13-06 and had HELLP Syndrome for the 2nd time. This time presented quite a bit differently than the first time and I had additional complications. My daughter Sarah was 29 weeks gestation at the time. Sarah has been home now for 5 weeks and she is doing really well. She is just about 7 pounds and has no issues. (Knock on wood.) She was 10 weeks old today but tomorrow is her due date! My other HELLP Syndrome baby, Katie is now 3 years old and is doing super as well.
Janice janstacey@shaw.ca Beckett Angus was born January 19, 2007 3 lbs 5 oz. He arrived 7 weeks early due to HELLP syndrome. He is in the Special Care Nursery at our local hospital for another 4-6 weeks for sure, but doing well - now breathing on room air and tolerating his tube feeds. His big brother, Vaughn, was also a HELLP baby born in February 2001. My recovery after Vaughn's birth was 2 1/2 years! With Beckett's pregnancy I was on one aspirin per day. I was monitored by my maternity doctor (once a week) and the specialist (once a week) for almost the entire pregnancy. I had blood tests, non stress tests and ultrasounds every week (THANK GOODNESS!!) They caught it right away! We are thrilled with our family and we are complete... we cannot go through the stress that HELLP syndrome brings on before, during and after birth again.
