"...Doctors are watching me more closely this time..."

From Sue
s2walsh@yahoo.com (Worcester, MA) My husband and I are very excited to be expecting our second child in early April.  I developed HELLP Syndrome at 38 weeks during my last pregnancy and delivered a healthy, 5-pound baby girl by emergency C-section.  We have decided to have a repeat c-section this time and my doctor plans to schedule it for just a couple of days before I'm due.  I was wondering if there is any advantage to planning to do the C-section earlier to decrease the risk of me developing HELLP again?  I would appreciate any feedback.

Robin0028@aol.com (Terre Haute, IN) Everything seems to be going good.  Baby is healthy, had an ultrasound yesterday. I am 28 weeks, and baby weighs 2 lb. 8 oz.  He couldn't tell the sex but thought it might be a boy.  I am not having any problems at all, knock on wood. At this time frame 6 years ago when I was pregnant with Luke I was already on blood pressure medication.  My diabetes is under control as well.  I am holding my breath because the 33 week mark is coming up (That's when I had Luke.  I am hoping to get thru that.)

From Rosemary
rshirley@cox-internet.com (Springdale, AR) I developed HELLP in October 2002 and had an emergency c-section at 26 weeks. Our daughter, Tovi Maria, lived only 21 days. This was my first pregnancy at age 39. I am now 41 years old and 2 months pregnant. Doctors are watching me more closely this time. Hopefully all will go well this time. Will keep you posted.
