Warm greetings from Bethany, W.Va.,
The HELLP Syndrome Society has sponsored two successful symposiums, one in 1998 and the second one in 2000. By popular request, we are sponsoring our third HELLP Symposium June 18-20, 2004 at Oglebay, a beautiful resort near Wheeling, W.Va. Look it up on the website http://www.oglebay-resort.com/. This is a huge undertaking for our family, so I hope many of you will support our efforts by attending. You can register by using the registration form posted on our website, or you may contact me at jpyle1942@aol.com to request a registration form and additional information to be sent to you as an attachment.
Presenters include:
Thelma Patrick, Ph.D., RN Assistant Professor, School of Nursing, Assistant Investigator, Magee Women's Research Institute, University of Pittsburgh
Maria Kidner, BSN, Clinical Seminar Presenter, Critique Assessments in Hypertensive Crises
Thomas Easterling, M.D., associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Washington, Seattle. Dr. Easterling has been providing the answers in the Q&A sections of our newsletters.

If you prefer other accommodations, we can provide you with a list of area motels.
Oglebay is a beautiful and very safe place to bring your children. Some couples may choose to have one parent attend the sessions while the other parent entertains their children in the park or day care for children ages 5-12 will be offered for a charge of $30 per child at the following times:
Friday 2:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. 2:30 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Day care will be held at the Oglebay Good Zoo and the Outdoor Swimming Pool (weather permitting). Trained Oglebay Good zoo staff that will present learning activities for the children will provide it. The swimming pool will be well supervised and is life guarded. Each child will take a swimming evaluation to determine his/her swimming ability.
This is your chance to ask questions of the presenters, to meet other HELLP survivors and share HELLP stories, and to relax in a beautiful setting. If you've already attended one or both of our HELLP Symposiums, consider this a reunion.
Hope to see you there, but hurry and make your registration to get the discount and to assure that you will have a room.
