No more "black-out" dates for frequent flyer seats! Northwest Airlines announced that there would be no black-out dates (Christmas & New Years).  During the former "blacked-out" period, the airline offered more than 50,000 seats to ten destinations from Detroit that I selected.  I checked 10 times over nine months.  Most of the seats that were available were to Buffalo, Cleveland and Toledo.  Otherwise, there were almost no seats!  My only advice is that you should keep checking, too bad there is no automated way to notify you when one becomes available.   Whole story here.
