Marimark Corporation
October 1997 - Oct 16 2001
As Database Programmer / Analyst and Web Site Programmer:
Duties:
Was employed full time to do ColdFusion, Visual FoxPro, MS Access, DBFast
and Clipper programming, in support of Fulfillment Mailings, and Online Inventory
Management.
Past Accomplishments:
-
September - October 2001
Completed a demo site for Chase
Bank, to allow them to manage bids and reporting for advertising campaigns.
-
July - August 2001
Completed a 'hotel-motel' demo
site, that uses ColdFusion and JavaScript to do selection of pictures
and layout templates for pamphlets. What a way to start learning
JavaScript! It works
much better than I expected.
Completed the basis for an accounting / invoicing site that bills based on
activity in the PostGrsql based fulfillment sites. Simple, but reliable.
More work to come later, as we implement tax calculations (oy!)
-
May - June 2001
Completed the PostGrsql based
replacement for SBT. It turned out to be far less complicated than I
thought. Support should now be much simpler. Built into the site is a
'site-builder' to make creating 'plain-vanilla' fulfillment sites a five
minute point and click process.
I rewrote the fulfillment sites for two reseller-clients to use this new
inventory system, and after 12 days of debugging, all is going well.
-
April 2001
Shipping of Orders in SBT via the web completed. I discovered limitations
in continuing to use SBT to support shipping, and I'm now developing a PostGrsql
based replacement for SBT.
The PostGrs Inventory/Sales Order tables are designed and 90% created, 70%
of the program code has been rewritten to use the PostGrs system.
The Inventory management screens are done (add/edit/delete items and bulk
upload); the shipping engine has been rewritten; the voiding engine has been
rewritten; and the screens are WIP. I'm currently working on a 'template'
for future fulfillment sites using the Postgrs tables.
-
Mar - Apr 2001
Currently working on Shipping of Orders posted to SBT via a web-based
application. The shipping screen is done, and the code is about half
translated.
-
Mar 2001
Created ColdFusion program to look in SBT for all recently shipped orders,
look up the associated salesman records in PostgreSQL to get email address,
then email the salesman the shipping information, including an automated
link to the UPS website to
track their order,
that included the tracking number in the link. (one-click tracking!)
-
Mar 2001
Learned how to create new companies in SBT, and set up one for test purposes,
and one to migrate an existing client to, for Inventory cleanup purposes.
-
Feb 2001
Created Demo website for second sourcing of website sales
-
Jan and Feb 2001
Migration of 25 Client websites from Windows NT / FoxWeb / ColdFusion to
Linux / Apache / ColdFusion
Most of these sites use SBT for Inventory and Order management, and part
of the task was optimizing the automatic posting of orders from the web to
SBT, and accessing the inventory items list from SBT for web based display.
All this was done using ODBC drivers to access data from the Windows NT based
SBT server to the Linux Web Server.
-
Jan 2001
Created Client website for contact lead management in support of fulfillment
mailings
-
Dec 2000
maintenance on SBT / Web based client fulfillment site. Creation of contact
management site for same client.
-
Nov 2000
Created Corporate Intranet for Project tracking and status reports
-
Oct 2000
Corporate Event Calendar in ColdFusion with MS Access back-end.
-
Sept 2000
Corporate Phone Book in ColdFusion with MS Access back-end.
-
Feb 1999
wrote several other utility programs for processing mailing files, using
both standard Xbase file access, and 'low-level' file access.
At the end of the month, I was transferred from the Computer Center Department
to the new E-Commerce Department, at the urging of the E-Commerce department
manager.
-
Dec 1998
wrote an application in FoxPro 6.0 to process and print HTML files for mailing
fulfillment, using the Internet Explorer control.
-
Nov 1998
wrote an application in MS Access (rewritten later in FoxPro) for time tracking
of my work hours, as applied to work for one specific client of Feather Fine.
-
Aug 1998
Rewrote application notated in May 1998 in Microsoft Visual FoxPro, adding
additional processes to those that already existed. This program fully automated:
querying an FTP server for new files and downloading them; importing and
processing the files; producing reports and samples for clients; notifying
said clients of status changes via email (Outlook Express); uploading the
samples via FTP; printing the mail merge documents; managing billing data
entry and reporting.
-
May 1998
Maintained an MS Access application (designed / written by another programmer)
that was used for mailing fulfillment printing via MS Word.
-
Oct 1997
Rewrote Clipper/DBfast Mailing Fulfillment/Inventory application
