The board meeting was held at 6:30, August 6. Comments and suggestions received by telephone and e-mail were appreciated.

Issue: Bright sunshine coming through windows

Resolution: Geof will head the effort to get curtains installed, with paper used in the meantime.

Issue: Exterior and interior painting

Resolution: Lloyd will contact the landlord concerning arrangements, and Geof will head the effort to complete the painting. Painting will commence August 22. Anyone who has spare time is urged to call, e-mail, or show up to help with painting services.

Issue: Class fees

Background: On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, lessons are offered free to the public. After the lessons, attendees play go, also without being charged. The Go Club, in a financial unstable situation, is thus losing an important part of its income. Also, lessons in other venues can be as high as $10 or more.

Resolution: The normal day fee will be charged to non-members attending Thursday night (high kyu) lessons. Tuesday nights (beginner and low kyu players) and Saturday mornings (children) will remain free.

Next Board Meeting: The next board meeting will be held at 7:00 pm September 8 (the second Tuesday). All comers are welcome to participate and voice their opinions. Issues for the next agenda may be submitted to any of the board members.
