Board Positions: The unfilled board positions were assigned as follows: Vice President, Guy Moreau, Secretary, Aki Oshiro, Member-at-large, Eric Ecklor

Signature Card: Members signed the signature card changing the signers for the Club’s bank account.

Treasurer’s Report: Maury gave a report: The cash in the regular account is only $3400. The annual expense estimate is about $12,000. To date about twenty members (approximately one-half) have renewed January memberships. Members are urged to renew as soon as possible.

Fee Schedules: Various new fee schedules were discussed. Ben will make up and mail a questionnaire. The questionnaire will obtain opinions from active members on fee hikes versus donation requests; it will also urge people to renew memberships. Possible fee amounts discussed include: $250 or $300, annual, $35, monthly, and $7 daily.

Payment of Fees: Monthly dues are to be paid in advance. No day fees paid are to be credited toward monthly dues. A previous month’s dues may be credited to an annual membership.

Computer: Maury purchased a 486 for $1. The old computer was given to Geronimo in gratitude for the work he has done in keeping the systems running.

Tax Status: Ben will call the IRS asking for advice on 501C.3 status.

Japanese American History Archives: Executive Director Seizo Oka has offered to house our old books. They could be housed there until the Club obtains proper storage facilities.

Electric Heaters and Coffee Maker: They must be unplugged before the Club is closed at night.

Jie Li Event: February 21st will be the next event.

Asian Art Museum: Danny has e-mailed Elizabeth Medel, representative, summarizing the meeting on the date of the Annual Members’ Meeting. We are currently waiting for a response.

Newsletter: The newsletter will be next issued on March 14 and in May.

Shinji Dote Tournament: In recognition and gratitude for his many years of work for the Go Club, Danny will hold a Shinji Dote Tournament in March.

Chinese New Year: February 27 and 28. Volunteers are needed for the booth in Chinatown on those days.

Press Kit: Danny is currently putting together a press kit for the Club.

1999 Go Congress: To be held at San Francisco State University July 31st through August 8th.
