Thanks for checking in on the event.
Our field is located on appoximately 200 acres of land. The runway system is 550' L-R, with an additional runway
600" straight out (including width of main runway). The left end of the main runway is 5' lower than center, and both
runways are 80' wide.
Club facilities include several "carport" style shelters, as well as a large main building, with picnic tables and a number
of chairs available to sit in. We also have a sand box, swing, and jungle gym for the kids, and a dedicated radio impound
located near runway center at the back of the pit area.
Please note: AMA required to be in the pit area.
Flying hours are 7:30 a.m.till dark during the event, and 8-dark (12 startup time on Sundays) during regular flying
hours.
A bit of a word about wind. The primary direction for wind at this field is from the right and away (SW). This
can change, but 75% of the time the wind is in your face from a Southerly direction.
Due to the lay of the land, coupled with a large stand of trees to the rear of the parking area, Northerly winds tend to
swirl to the left and right of the ends of the runway, making landings interesting at times. Please be aware of this
phenomenon. No one has ever crashed on landing due to the air, but things can get tricky. If it is deemed necessary,
it is possible for planes to be landed from the end of the outbound runway toward the pits. In heavy winds, planes can
be brought over the end of that runway with almost no overrun. In my personal experience at this field, I have only
done this three times, and that was in 20-25 knot winds, which are very uncommon in this area.
